Russian and Indonesian presidents Vladimir Putin and Joko Widodo have begun talks in Moscow. The meeting takes place on Thursday in an executive office in one of the Kremlin's buildings. The leaders are seated at a small table by the fireplace. This way they are communicating without observing epidemiological safety measures.

According to presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the visit will include a conversation between the heads of states, which will continue in the format of a working breakfast, and then they will make a statement to the press, and no questions from the media are envisaged.

As Yuri Ushakov, the Russian leader's aide, told reporters earlier the sides will discuss Ukrainian problems and also grain and fertilizers export. However, according to Ushakov, though "the bilateral aspect is undoubtedly important, the fact that Widodo is coming to Russia as a head of the G20 presidency is not less important and may be even more important".

On the eve of his visit to Russia, the Indonesian leader visited Kiev, where he had talks with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. He planned to discuss with his Ukrainian counterpart the possibility of resuming peace talks between Kiev and Moscow, as well as the prospects for opening corridors for the export of Ukrainian grain.

Widodo, who became the first Asian leader to visit Kiev since February, "delivered a humanitarian cargo to Ukraine," his administration informed. In addition, the British TV channel Sky News reported on Wednesday that the president of Indonesia during talks offered Zelensky to deliver a personal message for Putin. As Sky News points out, so far there is no information on whether the Ukrainian leader has accepted this offer.
