Putin Appoints New Ambassador to Oman

President Vladimir Putin has appointed Oleg Levin as the new extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Sultanate of Oman. The corresponding decree was published recently.

 

The document states, “To appoint Oleg Vladimirovich Levin as the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Sultanate of Oman.”

 

Levin succeeds Ilya Morgunov, who has been relieved of his duties through a separate decree.

 

Born in 1962, Levin graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR in 1985. He has been engaged in diplomatic work since 1994 and has extensive experience in various positions within the central apparatus of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and abroad. Previously, he served as the Consul General of Russia in Erbil, Iraq. Levin is fluent in English, French, and Arabic.
