Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his congratulations to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Republic Day, expressed confidence that through joint efforts the countries will strengthen their strategic partnership, the Kremlin press service reported.
"We highly value relations with Azerbaijan, which are based on good traditions of friendship and mutual respect. I am sure that with joint efforts we will continue to strengthen strategic partnership, fruitful cooperation in all fields - for the benefit of our peoples, to ensure regional security and stability," the telegram reads.
Putin noted that Azerbaijan has achieved acknowledged successes in socio-economic, scientific, technical and other fields and enjoys considerable influence in the world arena, playing an active role in addressing many important issues on the international agenda.
