Russian President Vladimir Putin received birthday greetings from several heads of state over the phone, and also discussed the military confrontation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone and the aggravating situation in Kyrgyzstan with the leaders of the CIS countries, the Kremlin's press service announced this on Wednesday.
"The President of the Russian Federation was personally congratulated by phone by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of India Narendra Maudie, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev," the message reads.
It is noted that in conversations with each of the leaders the issues of development of bilateral relations, as well as current regional problems were touched upon. In a number of conversations with leaders of CIS countries, a military confrontation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, as well as aggravation of the situation in Kyrgyzstan were discussed.
In addition, former Chancellor of Germany Gerhard Schröder and President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach congratulated Putin by phone.
Russian President Vladimir Putin marks his 68th birthday on October 7.
