Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a telephone conversation with Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday, February 6, to discuss providing aid to the republic, which suffered from a massive earthquake. "Through appropriate channels, the Russian side also informed the leadership of Turkey, which was significantly affected by this large-scale earthquake, of its readiness to provide assistance immediately. Vladimir Putin will speak with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Republic of Turkey on this matter today," the president's press service said in a statement.
A powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit Kahramanmaras province in southeastern Turkey on Monday, killing more than 1,000 people in the country.
