Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended an invitation to the leaders and military contingents of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states to participate in the 2025 Victory Day Parade in Moscow, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
"We look forward to welcoming the leaders of CSTO member states to Moscow on May 9, 2025. Additionally, we invite military units from your countries to join Russian troops in the parade on Red Square," Putin stated during a meeting with parliamentary leaders of CSTO nations.
The president emphasized the importance of CSTO nations' efforts in preserving historical truth. Referring to the late-November summit in Astana, he noted the collective commitment to advancing the recognition of the 1945 victory as a shared value for humanity.
"In this context, the recommendations approved at your meeting—aimed at countering external attempts to revise or distort the historical truth of World War II—are particularly timely. Equally significant is the appeal to parliaments worldwide in honor of this milestone victory," Putin added.
The CSTO, an international security organization, currently comprises six member states: Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
