Russian President Vladimir Putin has pointed to the growing terrorist threat to Russia, which is linked to the actions of Kiev as well as the West.
"The task of countering the terrorist threat is still relevant. Over the past year, the number of such crimes has increased," the head of state said at a board meeting of the Federal Security Service on Tuesday. In his view, "it is obvious that this is also related to the Kiev regime's attempts to use terrorist methods." "We are well aware of this, they have long used them in the Donbass," the president specified.
He also linked the intensification of the terrorist threat to "the West's desire to reanimate cells of extremists and terrorists, its so-called 'old friends'" on Russian territory as well.
