Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Vladimir Sokolenko as Russia's new ambassador to Chad, relieving Alexander Chvykov of his post. Decrees to this effect were published on Wednesday on the official portal of legal information.
"To appoint Vladimir Grigorievich Sokolenko as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Chad," reads the text of the document.
Another presidential decree relieved Chvykov, who had held the post since 2015, of the post of Russian ambassador to Chad.
Sokolenko was born in 1953. Previously, he held the post of Russian ambassador to the Republic of Cape Verde, released from this position by presidential decree last year.
