Russia is interested in a fair and sustainable settlement in Libya and will continue to support the country's sovereignty, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a credentials ceremony for foreign ambassadors held at the Kremlin on Tuesday.

"We are interested in a fair and sustainable settlement of the protracted internal conflict in that country. Russia will continue to support Libya's sovereignty and territorial integrity and help the friendly Libyan people defend their right to a decent life, peace and security," Putin assured.
