Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev congratulated each other on Victory Day during a telephone conversation. This was reported on Monday by the press service of the Kremlin.
"In a telephone conversation, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev warmly congratulated each other on the 76th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, noting that both countries revere the memory of the feat of the liberators and are deeply grateful to veterans who have shown unparalleled heroism and dedication," the statement said.
Also during the conversation, the mutual intention to build up comprehensive Russian-Azerbaijani cooperation was confirmed. "It was agreed on further contacts at various levels," the press service said.
