21 November 2022

Russian President Vladimir Putin is preparing to take part in a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council to be held in Bishkek on December 9. The format of participation will be announced later, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters Monday.

"Indeed, [his] participation in the summit is being prepared now. After the preparations are completed, we will announce [it]," he said in response to a question about whether Putin plans to attend the meeting and whether he will speak in person or online.

The EEU includes Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. The supreme supranational body of the association is the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (SEEC), and the permanent supranational regulatory body is the Eurasian Economic Commission. The presidents of the EEU member states take part in EEU meetings.
