Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to hold talks with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his official visit to Russia on October 6. This information was confirmed by the Kremlin press service.
"The focus of the meeting is to discuss the future development of our comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance with Uzbekistan, as well as to address pressing regional and global issues," the statement reads.
The Kremlin further clarified that, following the discussions, the heads of state are expected to issue a joint statement and sign several interdepartmental and commercial agreements.
Uzbekistan's presidential press service had previously announced that President Mirziyoyev would pay an official visit to Russia from October 5 to 7, in response to Putin's invitation.
