Iranian Presidential Chief of Staff Gholam-Hossein Esmaeili has disclosed additional information regarding the helicopter crash of Ebrahim Raisi. He confirmed that he had spoken three or four times with Friday Imam of Tabriz city, Mohammad Ali Ale Hashem, after the incident.
In an interview with Iran's IRIB television channel, Esmaili recounted, "It was reported that contact had been established with the cell phone of the pilot, Captain Mostafavi, but Ayatollah Ale Hashem answered instead. He expressed that he was not feeling well and mentioned that they had fallen into a ravine."
Esmaili further elaborated that he had made at least three calls to the imam and remained in contact with him for an additional three to four hours following the crash.
