As part of the economic summit “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum 2024”, guests from foreign countries shared their impressions about the event. The International Economic Forum of Russia and the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation was held from May 14 to 19, 2024 in the capital of Tatarstan, Kazan.
“The clarity of the organization of this forum is amazing. We often attend such events, but we are not always able to observe such coordinated work in their preparation”, - shared journalist Dana Nurzhan from Kazakhstan, who visited the annual forum for the first time. The guest also noted the scale of KazanForum 2024 (87 countries of the world were represented at the event - editor's note ).
“We are interested in the development of the halal industry. We know that Russia is quite a big player in this market. As we learned, Tatarstan produces halal products worth $1.5 million. This is a great export potential”, - noted Dana Nurzhan.
It is important to note that the delegation from Kazakhstan became one of the most representative at KazanForum 2024. At the forum, the closeness of the Kazakh and Tatar peoples was repeatedly spoken about. In this regard, not only the strengthening of economic ties, but also the joint desire for spiritual revival is a common task of the Turkic peoples.
In addition, at the final meeting of the economic forum on the topic “Financial and logistics infrastructure of Russia and the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation”, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin spoke about the development of the North-South transport corridor. This logistics route connects Russia, Iran and India. Subsequently, many neighboring states joined the agreement on the international transport corridor, one of which is Kazakhstan.
