Rosatom continues construction of the second power unit of the Iranian Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in accordance with the agreements, the Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali told Izvestia.
"The implementation of this project continues in accordance with the agreement. The moratorium on US sanctions on Iran's peaceful nuclear activities is still being extended. However, if sanctions are imposed, the continuation of activities for the construction of the Bushehr nuclear power plant will depend entirely on Rosatom," the diplomat said.
The total capacity of the Bushehr NPP will be 2,100 MW.
Work on the second power unit is planned to be completed within five years, and work on the third unit should begin within the next two years.
