Glavkosmos (part of Roscosmos) and Bangladesh Satellite Company Ltd. have signed a memorandum on cooperation, which involves the creation of the Bangabandhu-2 satellite system for Earth remote sensing (ERS) in the interests of the republic, the company said in a statement Wednesday.
"The parties express their intentions to establish partnership relations in order to develop long-term, effective and mutually beneficial cooperation in the promotion of products and services of the Russian rocket and space industry in the People's Republic of Bangladesh, including the creation of the satellite system of Earth remote sensing Bangabandhu-2," the memorandum reads.
Also the document implies cooperation in creation of satellite ground stations for data reception from Russian and foreign satellites, provision of launching and consulting services and organization of educational programs in the field of space.
Glavkosmos specified that the memorandum on cooperation comes into force after the signing and will be valid until the end of 2026.
