Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Oleg Syromolotov received Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Moscow Ihab Nasr at the latter's request.
During the conversation, a number of topical aspects of Russian-Egyptian cooperation in the fight against terrorism and drug trafficking were discussed.
The diplomats confirmed the common approaches of Russia and Egypt in countering the global terrorist threat with the central coordinating role of the UN, and noted the need to continue joint efforts to maintain the current international drug control regime based on the three UN anti-drug conventions.
