The Russian and Iranian governments are currently coordinating the final amendments to the draft comprehensive treaty between the two nations, Zamir Kabulov, the Russian President's Special representative for Afghanistan and Director of the Foreign Ministry's Second Asia Department told TASS.
When asked about potential deadlines for signing the treaty, Kabulov stated, "there are no approximate deadlines." He explained that although the draft was already in a high degree of readiness at the beginning of the year, Iranian partners introduced several amendments that required further interdepartmental coordination within Russia. After processing these amendments last week, Russia submitted its own version to Iran.
Kabulov added, "Everything will depend on how quickly they will prepare it, then we can talk about the terms [of signing]."
