Kyrgyzstan received reagents from Russia for 50 thousand studies on the coronavirus, the press service of the government of the Republic reported on Friday.
It is reported that yesterday Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Aida Ismailova met with the Deputy Director for clinical research of Central research Institute of epidemiology professor Natalia Pshenichnaya and a group of Russian doctors who arrived in the Republic, under the leadership of Deputy Minister of Health of Bashkiria Evgenii Kustov.
"The Russian delegation handed over tests and reagents for 50 thousand studies to the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic," the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers said.
According to him, a group of Russian doctors who arrived in Kyrgyzstan on Thursday, including resuscitators, infectious disease specialists, pulmonologists, otolaryngologists, will visit the regions and take a direct part in the treatment of patients with the coronavirus infection, and hold webinars for doctors from all regions.
"The support of the Russian side is evidence of truly friendly and fraternal relations between the peoples of the two countries," the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers quotes Ismailova. As the press service added, she expressed gratitude to Russian doctors, the Ministry of Health and the Russian Embassy for their assistance in the fight against COVID-19.
To date, the total number of infected COVID-19 in Kyrgyzstan has reached 31247. 1211 people died. According to the Ministry of Health of the country, the epidemiological situation in the Republic remains very difficult. More than ten temporary hospitals have been deployed in the capital and regions, as hospitals are unable to cope with the influx of patients. Due to the lack of medical staff, the Cabinet of Ministers of the country recalled all medical workers from vacation and involved senior medical students in treatment.
