Moscow hopes that the government set up in Lebanon by Najib Mikati will put an end to the protracted crisis in the country, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.
"We have hope and reason to believe that the Prime minister and his team will be able to solve the tasks of stabilizing the situation in the country, lead it out of the protracted socio-economic crisis and ensure the functioning of all state institutions," he said at a press conference following talks with Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib.
The new government of Najib Mikati was formed in September.
