Russia's current negotiating position on Ukraine is only a "warm-up" before future demands for the total capitulation of the Kiev regime, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council, wrote in his Telegram channel on Monday.
He drew attention to the words of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, who said he refused to have a dialogue with those issuing ultimatums.
"The current "ultimatums" are a warm-up before future demands. And he knows them: total capitulation of the Kiev regime on Russia's terms," Medvedev warned.
Earlier, Zelensky said that he was not ready to negotiate with Moscow at the moment. In an interview with CNN, he said: "It's my principle, I don't talk to people who give ultimatums." According to him, Russia allegedly has no desire to negotiate in a constructive way. Zelensky also answered in the affirmative when asked if he would "fight to the end," and added that an agreement between the two countries could be concluded after Russia leaves Ukrainian territory, without specifying what he meant by that.
