Russia is in talks with Turkey and Iran to organize a ministerial meeting in the Astana format on Syria this week, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced at a press conference.
"We are negotiating with our Turkish and Iranian partners to hold a ministerial meeting this week," Lavrov said, in response to a question about whether an Astana-format meeting is planned at the ministerial level in light of the situation in Aleppo, Syria.
On November 27, extremist group "Jabhat al-Nusra" (banned in Russia) launched a large-scale attack in northern Syria.
