The Russian government ordered to negotiate an agreement on cooperation in education with the Syrian Arab Republic. The corresponding order of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin was published on Wednesday on the official portal of legal information.
"In accordance with paragraph 3 of Article 11 of the Federal Law "On International Treaties of the Russian Federation" to accept the proposal of the Ministry of Education of Russia, agreed with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, to negotiate an agreement between the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Education of the Syrian Arab Republic on cooperation in general, secondary, vocational and additional education and other areas," the document says.
In December 2019 in Syria, under the program of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Center for Open Education in Russian as a platform for educational and cultural and educational events was launched. In the spring of 2020, the Russian Center for Science and Culture (RCSC) resumed its work in Damascus.
