Kyrgyzstan has received from the Russian Federation as humanitarian aid 200 thousand test systems for tests for COVID-19 coronavirus, the press service of the republic's Foreign Ministry told RIA Novosti on Friday.
"The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation received from Rospotrebnadzor PCR test systems for 200 thousand tests for laboratory diagnosis of COVID-19 coronavirus infection," said a representative of the press service.
According to him, the humanitarian cargo will be sent to Kyrgyzstan in the very near future.
"The Kyrgyz Republic expresses its sincere gratitude to the Russian Federation for its assistance and support," the Foreign Ministry stressed.
The first cases of the coronavirus were detected in Kyrgyzstan in early March. To date, the number of cases has exceeded 80,000. 1,340 people died.
