Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a congratulatory message to his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad, confirmed that Moscow will consistently support the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of that country.
"Addressing President of the Syrian Arab Republic Bashar al-Assad, the Russian leader reaffirmed his unwavering support for Syria's sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity as well as readiness to continue to help stabilize the situation and post-conflict reconstruction in the country. Putin wished his colleague good health, happiness and success, and to the friendly Syrian people peace and well-being," the Kremlin press service said in a statement.
