Russia intends to promote discussion in the UN and the Security Council of its concept of security in the Persian Gulf, Russia's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dmitry Polyanskiy announced.
"Undoubtedly, we will contribute to the discussion of this topic in the Security Council and the UN. It is the UN that we must act in. We will not forget this issue in our work," he said in particular.
According to Polyanskiy, the Russian side has already received a number of positive feedbacks regarding the concept, the detailed study of which will take some time.
"To be honest, I have not heard any criticism of our proposal so far," he added.
Russia presented its own concept of collective security in the Persian Gulf on July 23.
