According to experts, the main threats to the security of the CSTO countries come from the Northern provinces of Afghanistan, where there is an intense activation of terrorist bands and the increasing number of fighters coming back from Syria and Iraq.

The CSTO includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
