Enhanced combat readiness in Beirut in response to the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has not been observed as of now, stated Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Rudakov on the Russia-24 TV channel.
"In Beirut, we have not observed any such measures being taken at the moment," he commented on the potential for increased combat readiness in response to a worsening situation.
At the same time, the Russian diplomat emphasized that Lebanon has long been in a precarious situation. "This includes the threat of terrorism from neighboring Syria and the ongoing tension along the Lebanese-Israeli border. So, one could say, the Lebanese are constantly in a state of heightened readiness for any unfolding events," Rudakov explained.
