In New York, on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin met with French President's Special Envoy for Syria Francois Senemaud.
According to the press service of the Russian MFA, the diplomats discussed the Syrian settlement. The parties expressed positive assessment of the establishment of the Syrian Constitutional Committee, as well as confirmed the absence of alternative to a political and diplomatic solution to the Syrian crisis.
The diplomats agreed to continue to coordinate joint efforts to advance the political process in the Arab Republic the Syrian parties have a crucial role to play in.
