Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Uzbek counterpart, Bakhtiyor Saidov, held a telephone conversation to discuss the schedule of upcoming bilateral events. They also reaffirmed their commitment to closely coordinating diplomatic efforts to further deepen the strategic partnership between Moscow and Tashkent.
According to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry, the two ministers addressed current issues of Russian-Uzbek cooperation, both regionally and internationally, during their August 15 conversation. The discussion also focused on the key tasks for their respective foreign policy departments following Russian President Vladimir Putin's state visit to Uzbekistan in May 2024.
The ministry noted that Lavrov and Saidov expressed a strong commitment to enhancing diplomatic coordination, particularly in joint efforts within the UN and various multilateral platforms. Their goal is to strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between their two nations.
