The Russian consulate general in Istanbul continues to operate in a regular mode amid a number of Western countries' consulates suspending visits.
"The consulate continues to work in a regular mode," the Russian consulate general told TASS on Wednesday.
On Friday, the embassies of the United States and France in Turkey published reports alleging possible terrorist attacks in connection with the burning of the Quran in Europe. The US diplomatic mission later warned its citizens of the possibility of terrorist attacks in Istanbul. On Wednesday, the consulates of Britain, Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden in Istanbul stopped receiving visitors.
