Russian cosmonauts will have pre-flight training at the Russian Special Forces University in Chechnya, the head of the Republic Ramzan Kadyrov announced on his page in Vkontakte.
"The Chechen Republic maintains relations with the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center. There is an agreement that part of the pre-flight training of cosmonauts will take place at the Russian Special Forces University in Gudermes," the Chechen leader wrote, in particular.
The Russian University of Special Forces is being built in the city of Gudermes by private investment. The complex will consist of 95 buildings and structures and cover such areas as fire, tactical and special, airborne and mountain training. In addition, bodyguards and military journalists will be trained here.
In December 2019, the University opened the largest European Aerodynamic Complex Goodsky, designed for professional skydivers and extreme sports enthusiasts.
