Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and African countries and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov met with Yemeni Ambassador in Moscow Ahmed Salem al-Waheishi on Tuesday to emphasize the need to consolidate the efforts of all Yemeni political forces for a sustainable ceasefire and development of principles for a comprehensive settlement of the conflict in the country.
"The military-political and humanitarian situation in the Republic of Yemen was discussed at length during the meeting. The Russian side stressed the need for consolidated efforts of all Yemeni political forces without exception for the sake of ensuring a stable ceasefire with subsequent launching of a full-scale national dialogue and elaboration of principles for comprehensive settlement of the conflict in this traditionally friendly Arab country," the Russian MFA said in a statement.
The meeting was initiated by the Yemeni side.
