Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin held consultations with Egyptian diplomats, during which the parties discussed the process of political resolution of crises in the Middle East and Africa. This was stated in a report of the Russian Foreign Ministry issued on Wednesday.
"There was a detailed exchange of views on the UN Security Council agenda with a focus on supporting the international community's efforts to politically resolve crises in Syria, Libya, Yemen, CAR, Somalia, Mali and the Middle East settlement. Special attention was also paid to strengthening bilateral cooperation and coordination on the issues of climate change, food security, UN peacekeeping, protection and promotion of human rights," the ministry reported.
The consultations, which took place on March 23-24, were attended by Egypt's Deputy Foreign Ministers, as well as the Director of the Department of Human Rights and the Director of the Department of Environment and Sustainable Development.
