Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and African countries and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Deputy Chairman of the Palestinian Hamas Politburo Musa Abu-Marzouk discussed the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the process of restoration of inter-Palestinian unity.
"During the conversation, the parties discussed the unfolding situation in the zone of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict as well as the problems of restoring inter-Palestinian unity," the Russian foreign ministry reported on Monday.
The ministry added that "Russia expressed its unflinching readiness to support efforts to achieve a Palestinian national consensus on the political platform of the Palestine Liberation Organization for a fair solution of the Palestinian problem on a well-known international legal basis."
