Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and African countries and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Turkish Ambassador to Moscow Mehmet Samsar discussed the situation in Syria with a focus on the normalization of Turkish-Syrian relations at a meeting on Wednesday.
"During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on topical issues of the Middle East agenda with a focus on the situation in and around Syria while emphasizing the problems of advancing the normalization of Turkish-Syrian inter-state relations in accordance with the principles agreed upon in the Astana format," the Russian MFA said in a statement following the meeting.
