Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Representative of the Russian President for the Middle East and African countries Mikhail Bogdanov discussed on Monday with Egyptian Ambassador to Moscow Nazih El-Nagari Middle East settlement with emphasis on the situation in Syria, Libya and Yemen, the Russian MFA said in a statement.
"During the conversation participants had a trusting exchange of views on the key aspects of the Middle East agenda with a focus on the situation in Syria, Libya and Yemen," the diplomatic office said.
The Russian foreign ministry added that the sides also discussed "some issues of further development of traditionally friendly Russian-Egyptian relations, including in the context of preparations for the next meeting of the joint Russian-Egyptian commission on trade, economic and scientific and technical cooperation scheduled for March in Cairo."
The meeting was held at the request of the Egyptian ambassador.
