Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and African countries and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Jordanian Ambassador to Moscow Khaled Shawabkeh discussed the Palestinian-Israeli settlement as well as the situation in and around Syria on Friday.
"During the conversation, there was a keen exchange of views on key aspects of the Middle East agenda with a focus on the state of affairs in the Palestinian-Israeli settlement as well as developments in and around Syria, including in the context of the results of the May 1 meeting of the foreign ministers of Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq and the Syrian Arab Republic in Amman," the Russian diplomatic office stated.
Smolenskaya Square also noted that the sides touched on topical issues of further strengthening of "traditionally friendly Russian-Jordanian relations, including the maintenance of regular political dialogue."
The meeting was held at the request of the Jordanian diplomat, the Russian foreign ministry added.
