Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Palestinian Ambassador to Moscow Abdel Hafiz Nofal engaged in a meaningful discussion on Wednesday, focusing on the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The meeting specifically addressed the consequences of the deteriorating situation near Jenin, a city located on the West Bank.
"The discussion involved an in-depth exchange of views regarding the resolution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The parties paid particular attention to the dangerous consequences stemming from the sharp deterioration of the situation in the Jenin area," the ministry said in a statement.
During the meeting, the Russian side underscored the utmost importance of implementing urgent measures to de-escalate the tensions on the ground. They reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to continue their efforts in resolving the Palestinian problem, in close coordination with their Middle Eastern partners.
Notably, the conversation was also attended by Fadwa Barghouti, a prominent public and political figure from Palestine. Fadwa Barghouti, the wife of Marwan Barghouti, one of the leaders of Fatah, participated in the discussion upon her own request.
