Russian doctors arrived in Kyrgyzstan to work in the red zone

Russian doctors who arrived in Kyrgyzstan to help fight against COVID-19 will work in the "red" zone, the head of the delegation of doctors, Deputy Minister of Health of Bashkiria Evgeny Kustov told reporters.


"In Kyrgyzstan, we will stay for about a month. During this time, we will provide assistance in organizing assistance to patients with COVID-19. Also Russian specialists will work in the "red" zone and provide practical assistance in the treatment of patients," said Kustov.

 

 

According to him, 5 groups of Russian specialists included surgeons, cardiologists, therapists, pediatricians, traumatologists, anesthesiologists, intensive care specialists, infectious disease specialists, pulmonologists and other specialists with extensive experience in treating patients with the coronavirus infection.


The second group of Russian physicians from Moscow and Ufa, consisting of 48 people, arrived in Kyrgyzstan to help fight against COVID-19 on Thursday morning. As RIA Novosti was informed by the Ministry of Health of the Republic, the arrival of the delegation became possible within the framework of earlier agreements between Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Zheenbekov and Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.


The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic has already expressed its gratitude to the government of the Russian Federation for the assistance provided. "Today Russian specialists will get acquainted with the situation in Kyrgyzstan, and starting from tomorrow they will start their work in health care organizations of Bishkek, Osh, Jalal-Abad and Issyk-Kul regions", - said State Secretary of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan Kalysbek Shadkhanov.


On Wednesday, a flight  of the Russian Ministry of Defense arrived in Kyrgyzstan with 19 military doctors on board. They are divided into 6 groups and already help Kirghiz military doctors in the treatment of patients with COVID-19.


To date, the total number of COVID-19 infected in Kyrgyzstan has reached 29 359. 1123 people died. According to the Ministry of Health, the epidemiological situation in the country remains very difficult. More than ten temporary hospitals have been deployed in the capital and regions, as hospitals cannot cope with the influx of patients. Due to the lack of medical personnel, the Cabinet of Ministers of the country has withdrawn all medical workers from their vacations and involved in the treatment of COVID-19 senior students of medical universities.
