The meeting between Presidential envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Ministry Mikhail Bogdanov and the member of the Transitional Military Council of Sudan Salaheddin Abdel-Khalik took place in Moscow.
As reported on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry, during the conversation, which was also attended by the Sudanese Ambassador to Moscow Nadir Babiker, the parties discussed the latest developments in Sudan in the context of the agreement signed on July 15 between the Transitional Military Council of Sudan and the civil opposition on the formation of the provisional administrative authorities.
Bogdanov reiterated Russia's support for the agreements reached to ensure the earliest stabilization of the situation in Sudan and stressed the need to respect the principle of non-interference in its internal affairs and to resolve internal political differences on the basis of a broad national dialogue.
