«Unfortunately, while in the USA they prefer to create an atmosphere of uncertainty, including negative signals, around the extension of the Treaty on the reduction and limitation of strategic offensive arms. Thus, the prospect of the complete disappearance in the relations of the two largest nuclear powers in the world of any control and restrictive mechanisms in the nuclear-missile sphere loomed. The termination of the treaty on the elimination of medium-range and shorter-range missiles, as emphasized in the Russian diplomatic department, is also fraught with the beginning of a multilateral arms race in several regions of the world.
