The Russian Defense Ministry reported that IL-76 planes were used by the Russian Air Force's military transport aviation from the Ulyanovsk-Vostochny airfield to Nagorno Karabakh to deliver servicemen, special equipment and equipment to the peacekeeping brigade of the Central Military District, the ministry reported on Tuesday.

"Sappers will perform engineering reconnaissance, demining of the area, roads and objects, as well as provide preparation and maintenance of supply and evacuation routes, water purification and other engineering support tasks," the report says. In addition, service dogs will be used to detect and search for explosive objects.

On November 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a joint statement on the complete cessation of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to the Russian leader, the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides are stopping at their occupied positions, and Russian peacekeepers will be deployed in the region.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the contingent will be based on units of the 15th Independent Motorized Rifle Brigade (peacekeeping) of the Central Military District. The agency specified that in order to monitor compliance with the cessation of hostilities agreements, Russian observation posts are set up along the line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh and along the Lachin corridor connecting Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. The command of the peacekeeping operation is deployed in the Stepanakert area.
