Presidential elections in Tajikistan were held in accordance with international standards, a report issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry reads.
The Ministry noted that the voting process was followed by the missions of observers from the CIS and Shanghai Cooperation Organization. "The elections were declared open, free and legitimate. The expression of will, which was attended by 85.39% of voters, was held in accordance with international standards and in compliance with national legislation, in an atmosphere of competition", the diplomatic mission said.
On Wednesday the Central Election Commission of Tajikistan approved the final results of presidential elections held on October 11, according to which the incumbent head of state Emomali Rahmon won with 90,92% of votes. Also, the Central Election Commission approved the results of other candidates according to which Muroj Abdulloev nominated by the Communist Party received 1,17%, Abduhalim Gafforzoda from Socialist Party - 1,49%, Rustam Rakhmatzoda from the Party of economic reforms - 2,14% and Rustam Latifzoda from the Agrarian Party - 3,02%.
