Russian MFA says it is closely monitoring the situation in Kazakhstan

Russia is closely monitoring the situation in Kazakhstan, currently, there is no information about Russian citizens injured in the republic, the Russian Foreign Ministry told TASS on Wednesday.


"We are closely following the development of the situation in Kazakhstan. There is no data on injured Russian citizens," the ministry pointed out.


According to videos posted on social networks, clashes between protesters and law enforcement officers resumed in Alma-Ata on Wednesday, and flash-bang grenades could be heard exploding. According to a statement from the city commandant's office, law enforcement authorities in Almaty continue an operation to ensure law and order and combat extremism in the metropolis, and residents are asked to refrain from visiting public places.
