Political and diplomatic work to resolve the crisis in Syria can become a model for resolving other regional conflicts, Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov said in the interview for RIA Novosti.
He reminded that in 2015, the anti-terrorist operation of Russian troops in Syria was not supported by Western countries; however, Russia managed to achieve all its goals, including "defeat the terrorist international and prevent the return, infiltration into Russia and neighboring countries of thousands of militants."
"In addition, the intense political and diplomatic work carried out in recent years on a comprehensive settlement of the Syrian crisis can certainly become a kind of model for resolving other regional conflicts," the senior diplomat said.
