Soldiers of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Parties will maintain the volume of the humanitarian aid distributed to the population of Syria in 2021, Rear Admiral Vyacheslav Sytnik, the Deputy Head of the Center, told journalists on Monday at a briefing dedicated to the results of 2020 humanitarian actions and the restoration of peaceful life in the republic.
"The humanitarian actions will continue in the same volume, that is, two or three actions in each province every month," Sytnik said, responding to a question about the Center's plans for 2021.
"Since the beginning of the settlement process, the Center has conducted 2,670 humanitarian actions in all provinces of the Syrian Arab Republic. The total weight of the humanitarian cargo was more than 4,600 tons of food," the Rear Admiral noted.
He specified that the actions cover the most unprotected groups of the population of the country, in particular, children and families who have lost their breadwinners. The Russian military delivers food packages to residents of cities and towns of Syria, which include rice, flour, sugar, condensed milk, tea and other products, as well as traditional Arab flatbread.
