Russian Mission to the UN: Blinken Performed at a Club in Kiev While Ukrainians Were Sent to the Meat Grinder

15 May

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken's performance of a song at a Kiev club indicates that the West does not care about Ukrainians being sent into the meat grinder on the battlefield. This opinion was expressed on Tuesday by Dmitry Polyanskiy, First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN.

"Sometimes it seems that the decision-makers in the West have completely stopped thinking. <...> They probably don’t care how this might look to the ordinary people of a poor and corruption-ridden country, whose residents are being caught on the streets and sent to the meat grinder. They don’t even bother to use their brains," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

The Russian diplomat is convinced that Blinken's performance at a Kiev music club and his joint visit to a pizzeria with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba is a "missed shot" in terms of the arguments the West promotes about the dire living conditions in Ukraine due to "barbaric Russian shelling." "Life for Ukrainians is unbearable, you say? No light, ruins everywhere? Yet there is a music club, the lights are on, people are relaxing, and an American diplomat found a pizza restaurant in Kiev," Polyanskiy noted, comparing this to the dire situation in Gaza.
