Senators have summed up the results of the VIII Historical and cultural heritage of Russia Parliamentary forum at a press conference in Yaroslavl.
According to Deputy chairman of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev, the cultural and historical heritage of Russia is the heritage of the whole country. The senator said that traditionally a wide range of representatives of regional authorities, businessmen, cultural figures are invited to participate in the events of the parliamentary forum. "More than 200 people from 37 subjects of the Russian Federation took part in the Yaroslavl forum. It was possible to hold it in full and in full-time format with observance of necessary epidemiological measures," said Konstantin Kosachev.
The Deputy chairman of the Federation Council reminded that discussions were conducted in three main areas: intangible heritage, tangible cultural heritage and international dimension of the Russian cultural heritage. "First of all, attention was paid to the issues requiring legislative regulation and the attention of the federal center in terms of financing projects and programs."
Speaking about the preservation of non-material and material culture Konstantin Kosachev specified that the Federation Council will get actively involved in the work in order to pass to the mode of converting ideas and proposals into specific bills.
The senator emphasized the agreement reached by the participants - to check the implementation of the resolutions of the previous forum at each subsequent one. "At the IX forum, which, as planned, will be held in two years in Dagestan, we will get back to the discussions of the Yaroslavl Forum. Each position of the final document will remain under control. This is a new practice, we will implement it".
Liliya Gumerova, Chairman of the Committee on science, education and culture, added that a draft federal law on intangible cultural heritage is planned to be prepared and submitted already in the autumn session. "We have defined the frontline of work, we can see the "road map". We understand that different levels must be taken into account - federal, regional, municipal and even inter-regional".
All in all, according to Liliya Gumerova, a lively discussion took place. "It turned out to be quite informative with concrete proposals that will be taken into account in the final forum's document".
Farit Mukhametshin, Deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on international affairs, remarked that discussions on issues of the historical and cultural heritage of peoples of Russia will continue within the framework of the World Conference on intercultural and interreligious dialogue, to be held in St. Petersburg in 2022.
According to the senator, Russia is one of the active supporters of important international initiatives aimed at ensuring the rights of believers and developing a dialogue of civilizations. "We stand for the prevention of religious intolerance, for the prevention of radical manifestations, and against the politicization of this topic." The senator considers the forthcoming Conference to be an opportunity to demonstrate to the international community Russia's experience in maintaining intercultural dialogue and interfaith harmony in society. "We are ready to show Russia's openness and desire to unite efforts with all states to reduce conflicts in the world".
