Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu met with the commander of the Libyan National Army, Marshal Khalifa Haftar.
The main topic of discussion at the meeting, which, according to the Ministry of Defense, was held in Moscow, was the situation in Libya.
"Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Shoygu met with the commander of the Libyan National Army, Marshal Haftar. During the talks, the situation in Libya was discussed. The important role of the talks held on January 13 of this year in Moscow was noted to establish a ceasefire and start the process of normalizing the situation in the country", the message reads.
The parties, as noted, "once again confirmed that there are no alternative political ways to resolve the intra-Libyan crisis, as well as their commitment to independence, unity and territorial integrity of Libya".
